Education & Training: Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs)

UAV photogrammetry allows contact-free, high-resolution surveys of spatial objects and enables the rapid identification and digitization of terrain surface changes at low costs. Rapid technological progress constantly provides new possibilities and has led to an increased use of unmanned aerial systems in various application fields. In cooperation with the ADTF (Austrian Drone Task Force) we are now offering a new UAV training which gives a concise overview of the current state of the art. In two introductory modules we are providing the background required for obtaining drone licenses. In the ensuing lessons you will gain valuable flight experience and acquire the basics of photogrammetric analysis and point cloud editing. After completing the course you will be able to carry out flight missions on your own and generate high-quality digital data such as digital terrain models (DTM), digital elevation models (DEM), digital 3D object models and 3D point clouds. Participants based in Austria can use the FFG Digital Skills Check get up to 80 % of the course fees refunded.
